Ethiopian Riddles

The Amharic riddle — እንቆቅልሽ — is opened as a call and response: the asker says እንቆቅልህ, the answerer replies ምን አውቅልህ, and only then comes the riddle itself. These are the traditional kind, a line of compressed description with a single word behind it. Read through them at your own pace, or take ten at random.
